When Carlynn Ventez’ was asked about her feelings about the book so far, she responded, “The book has a great life lesson behind it and I really like the story line.” Mrs. Lawrence, the 7th grade reading teacher, when she was asked why she chose it for her students to read she responded, “Because October is anti-bullying month and and ties well into October and it is a great way to start off the school year because the message in it is about choosing kind and my hope is my students will consider choosing kind for the school year and their lives.”
